As the heroes of *To Be Determined* journey away from the city of Tarin, they encounter a wise storyteller and his cat, who offers to share the tale of *The Breaking* in exchange for their company. He recounts the journey of four villagers who, in the aftermath of a devastating event, embark on a solemn trek to a sacred burial ground to lay their village matriarch to rest. Along the way, the villagers confront both the emotional and physical tolls of the disaster, and the storyteller reveals how the Broken Mountain got the name.
